Boys Varsity Cross Country Season
Fall 2013

The boys cross country team won 4 invitationals this fall – Northwestern, Fountain Central, Rossville, and Oak Hill – and claimed MIC and Logansport sectional championships. It was their 4th consecutive MIC championship and 6th out of the last 7 and 4th sectional championship out of the last 6.

At Northwestern Matt Grider set a new course record of 9:08 while the team broke the 26-year-old meet record for lowest cumulative time of 50:19 breaking the old record by 4 seconds.

A week later at the Western Invitational, Grider established a new Oakbrook Valley course record of 15:57 breaking the old record by 11 seconds.

Grider also recorded first place finishes at Fountain Central, Rossville, Oak Hill, and Maconaquah.

Matt Grider, Riley Carter, Caleb Maddox, Auston Davenport, Austin Elliott, and Mark Boss were All-MIC. Grider, Carter, Maddox, Davenport, and Jacob Bradshaw were All-Sectional. Grider and Carter were All-Regional.

Grider qualified for the State Finals where he finished 101st overall out of 206 runners.

Grider was selected IATCCC All-State Honorable Mention.

Boss, Bradshaw, Kyle Copenhaver, Elliott, Grider, Grant Harbaugh, Lyons, Matt McKinney, Asa Sheffer, and Cesar Terron were selected Academic All-MIC.

Elliott and Lyons were named to the Academic All-State. Bradshaw and Harbaugh were honorable mention.
