The Lady Panthers of Western were captured their first win of the season the other night against the Eastern Comets. The Panthers surprised the Lady Comets by pressing them in full and half court settings which led to steals and easy layups for the Panthers. At one time, the Panthers were able to stretch the lead to 20 points. Eastern was able to put on a small run in the 4th quarter, but fell to the Panthers 58-49. Scoring for the Panthers were: Sara Connelly with 18 and Brooklyn Campbell with 11. Hayley Mills added 11 rebounds in the victory.
The Lady Panthers had a rough night against the Lebanon Tigers. The Panthers had a problem handling the press from Lebanon to start the game. Rachel Harrah was a bright spot in the first half by gathering 3 offensive rebounds and 4 points in the first half. In the 2nd quarter, the Panthers were able to break the press but struggled to make shots. After halftime, the Panthers were able to gather their emotions and played a good half of basketball. The girls were able to put up 23 second half points and fell to Lebanon 82-31. Scoring for the Panthers were: Brooklyn Campbell 9, Sarah Connolly and Clair Lechner with 6 each
