Football Team Claims Share of MIC Title

The Western Football team captured a share of the MIC Championship Friday night by defeating Lewis Cass 23-8.  The Panthers (8-1, 6-1 MIC) will share the league title with Hamilton Heights, who Western beat head to head.  Western last won a share of the MIC title in 2011. The Panthers will play Mississinewa this Friday

Boys Cross Country Advances to Semi-State

The Western Boys Cross Country team placed 2nd in the Culver Regional Saturday scoring 78 points.  Matt Grider lead the Panthers placing 3rd, Riley Carter 14th, Jacob Bradshaw 21st, Josh Everetts 26th, Austin Davenport 27th, Austin Elliott 40th, and Caleb Maddox 46th.  The team advances to the New Prairie Semi-State, this Saturday.

Girls Cross Country team Advances to Semi-State

Boys Cross Country Sectional Champions

The Western Boys Cross Country team continued their championship ways Tuesday night winning the Logansport Sectional.  Led by Matt Grider’s 3rd place finish, the Panthers top five runners placed in the Top 15 overall.  Riley Carter set a personal best finishing 6th, Jacob Bradshaw finished 12th, Caleb Maddox 14th and Austin Davenport 15th.  Austin Elliott

Girls Cross Country Team Finishes 3rd at Sectional

Congratulations to the Regional Bound Cross Country Girls. The girls placed 3rd in the sectionals last night to earn a spot at Regionals on Saturday. Western Girls Soccer Season Ends

The Western Girls Soccer team lost Saturday night in the Sectional Championship to defending champion Marion 7-0.  The team finished the year 9-6.  Graduating from the team are seniors Emily Hawkins, Chassidy Lenn, Cheyenne Rayl, Bre Buckalew and Tricia Hayes.  The Panthers will build around returning player Cybil Johnson, Sarah Connolly, Courtney Pitzer, Emma Harbaugh

Girls Soccer Team Advances in Sectional

The Lady Panthers used three second half goals to pull away from Mississinewa in the second half of the soccer sectional Thursday night.  Abby Webster assisted Sarah Connolly for the Panthers lone first half goal.  After intermission, Connolly assisted Jenna Seaman’s goal, Courtney Pitzer and Bre Buckalew added insurance goals for the Panthers.  Abby Webster

Boys Soccer Sectional

The Varsity Boys Soccer team ended their season last night in a heartbreaking loss to Logansport.  Both teams were scoreless at the end of regulation.  Over time rules in Soccer call for two 7 minute halves, at the conclusion of overtime both teams remained scoreless.  Next each team received five penalty kicks, at the end

MIC Boys Cross Country

The Western Boys Cross Country team turned in a dominating performance last night at the MIC race placing all 7 runners in the top 11. Matt Grider was in good enough shape to still take second-place in 17:05. Teammate Riley Carter took fourth in 17:31, Caleb Maddox was fifth in 17:40 and Auston Davenport was seventh

Congratulations girls’ cross country for a 2nd place finish in the MIC meet last night. Special congratulations to Nicole Hampshire and Emma Nixon for their all conference titles placing 5th and 7th respectively. Sam Luginbuhl and Jama Claxton finished in 12th and 18th while Cora Johnson, Taylor Nunan and Shelby Hulka rounded out the runner
