MIC All Conference Awards

The MIC announced their All Conference Athletes today.  Below are the Western athletes who received All Conference recognition. Boys Cross Country – MIC Team Champions.  Matt Grider, Riley Carter, Caleb Maddox, Auston Davenport, Austin Elliott and Mark Boss. Girls Cross Country – 2nd Place MIC.  Nicole Hampshire and Emma Nixon Football – MIC Team Champions. 

Football Sectional vs West Lafayette

West Lafayette’s Football Field is not located on the campus of the High School.  The Field is located at 1000 Cumberland Avenue, West Lafayette.  If you are going West on Sagamore Parkway (U.S. Hwy 52) towards West Lafayette, you will cross the bridge, go up the hill and turn right onto N Salisbury St.  Go

Matt Grider Advances to State Meet

Matt Grider advanced to the State Cross Country Meet by placing 8th in the New Prairie Semi-State with a time of 16:11.  Matt will compete in the State Meet Saturday at the LaVern Championship Course in Terra Haute Indiana.  The race starts at 1pm.  Best of Luck Matt.

Girls Cross Country Wraps up Season

The girl’s cross country finished their season with a strong showing at the semi-state meet at New Prairie.  Nicole finished her season with a 45th place finish while Erin Knepley finished with a PR time in 65th.  Sam Luginbuhl and Emma Nixon finished in 117th and 121th respectively.  Jama Claxton finished out the top 5 scorers in 163rd.  Cora

Judson Quinn

Western senior tennis player Judson Quinn was defeated Saturday in Regional competition.  Judson finished his season 17-2.  Judson’s 17 wins in a season places him second in the record books for most wins in a season.  Judson has not finalized his college plans.

Football Team Claims Share of MIC Title

The Western Football team captured a share of the MIC Championship Friday night by defeating Lewis Cass 23-8.  The Panthers (8-1, 6-1 MIC) will share the league title with Hamilton Heights, who Western beat head to head.  Western last won a share of the MIC title in 2011. The Panthers will play Mississinewa this Friday

Boys Cross Country Advances to Semi-State

The Western Boys Cross Country team placed 2nd in the Culver Regional Saturday scoring 78 points.  Matt Grider lead the Panthers placing 3rd, Riley Carter 14th, Jacob Bradshaw 21st, Josh Everetts 26th, Austin Davenport 27th, Austin Elliott 40th, and Caleb Maddox 46th.  The team advances to the New Prairie Semi-State, this Saturday.

Girls Cross Country team Advances to Semi-State

CONGRATULATIONS GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY!!! Boys Cross Country Sectional Champions

The Western Boys Cross Country team continued their championship ways Tuesday night winning the Logansport Sectional.  Led by Matt Grider’s 3rd place finish, the Panthers top five runners placed in the Top 15 overall.  Riley Carter set a personal best finishing 6th, Jacob Bradshaw finished 12th, Caleb Maddox 14th and Austin Davenport 15th.  Austin Elliott

Girls Cross Country Team Finishes 3rd at Sectional

Congratulations to the Regional Bound Cross Country Girls. The girls placed 3rd in the sectionals last night to earn a spot at Regionals on Saturday. Sam Luginbuhl led the Panthers with a 9th place finish and Emma Nixon with a 14th place  finished. Each earned all-sectional titles. Also running were Jama Claxton (22nd), Erin Knepley
