Tennis vs Mississinewa

The Western Tennis Team defeated Mississinewa last night by the score of 4-1. Brody Worl took out a very good opponent at 2 singles 6-0, 7-5. John Sullivan followed suit at 3 singles winning 7-5, 6-2. #1 doubles was a bit easier as Justin Groothuis and Chad Gifford won easily 6-2, 6-1. Our longest win

Three more Panthers Choose College

Three more Panther athletes have chosen to continue their playing careers at the collegiate level. Yesterday they made it official by “signing” their letters of intent. MIC All Conference Awards

The MIC announced their All Conference Athletes today.  Below are the Western athletes who received All Conference recognition. Boys Cross Country – MIC Team Champions.  Matt Grider, Riley Carter, Caleb Maddox, Auston Davenport, Austin Elliott and Mark Boss. Girls Cross Country – 2nd Place MIC.  Nicole Hampshire and Emma Nixon Football – MIC Team Champions. 

Judson Quinn

Western senior tennis player Judson Quinn was defeated Saturday in Regional competition.  Judson finished his season 17-2.  Judson’s 17 wins in a season places him second in the record books for most wins in a season.  Judson has not finalized his college plans.

Boys Tennis Sectional

The Western Boys Tennis team (9-11)  begins sectional play tonight at Kokomo versus Eastern (8-7), the match starts at 4pm.  The Panthers beat the Comets earlier in the season 3-2.  Leading the Panthers is number 1 singles player Judson Quinn.  Judson is 16-1 on the season and number 2 doubles Caleb Howard and Luke Florek
